Jakarta: Metro TV President Director Arief Suditomo reaffirmed the network’s commitment to advancing Waste to Energy (WtE) technology during the Waste to Energy Talks 2026 at the Melati Glass House in Jakarta on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
During the event, Arief highlighted Metro TV’s ambition to serve as a bridge between the government, the private sector, and financial institutions to accelerate the development of WtE projects.
“We hope to support the implementation of these projects,” he said.
Arief cited WtE technology as a solution to Indonesia’s spiraling waste management problem, with millions of tons of domestic waste continuing to accumulate annually.
“The problem threatens not only our environmental resilience, but also public health and food security,” he said on Metro TV’s Zona Bisnis.
WtE technology, Arief said, offers two significant benefits: reducing waste at the downstream level, and generating renewable energy.
Arief concluded by commending Waste-to-Energy Talks 2026 for providing a platform to align perspectives, formulate solutions, and develop concrete steps.
