Jakarta: Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa assured that the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) would continue to function effectively despite the resignation of Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo.
“We will continue to demonstrate to the market that our policies remain solid, pro-growth, pro-stability, and market-friendly,” he said following a meeting at the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) office in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
Bank Indonesia announced Perry Warjiyo’s resignation on Monday, July 27. Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti subsequently assumed the role of acting governor.
Purbaya highlighted Destry’s distinguished career, stating, “She is no newcomer; she is a veteran. She has been involved in the KSSK for quite some time and has held roles at the LPS and BI. She possesses the knowledge and experience to lead Bank Indonesia.”
