Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base at around 6:00 a.m. WIB on Monday December 1, 2025, heading to North Tapanuli to review firsthand the severe flood damage that has struck parts of Sumatra.

Prabowo landed at Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport as part of the government’s rapid-response effort to ensure that disaster handling in the affected areas is proceeding effectively and without delay.

During the visit, the President is expected to assess key locations hit by flooding, identify disruptions to essential public services, and verify that emergency protocols are being executed according to national disaster-response standards.

The government is now prioritizing the restoration of vital infrastructure, including transportation routes, bridges, telecommunications, energy lines, and health services. Prabowo has instructed all relevant ministries and regional authorities to accelerate response efforts to reduce the disaster’s impact on communities.

Officials emphasize that coordinated emergency handling is critical to reassure residents that the state is fully present on the ground. The public is urged to remain cautious and follow official guidance, as extreme weather risks may persist in the coming days.
