Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto said the Abadi Masela Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) National Strategic Project (PSN) requires an investment of USD 20.9 billion.
“The project will greatly support Indonesia’s development,” he said, as quoted by Antara on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
The Abadi Masela LNG PSN is being developed by INPEX Masela Ltd. in partnership with Pertamina and Petronas. It is designed to produce 9.5 million tons of LNG annually, supply 150 million standard cubic feet (MMSCFD) of gas per day, and produce 35,000 barrels of condensate a day.
The President highlighted Indonesia’s need for a reliable energy supply to accelerate its economic transformation through industrialization. Developing the country’s energy sector, he said, is key to building a modern and productive economy.
“We are determined to become an industrialized, modern nation, and to ensure that our people live decent lives,” he said.
Prabowo added that revenues generated from the country’s natural resources would help finance government programs, encompassing healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
“The revenues would enable us to provide the best possible healthcare, pay teacher salaries, and much more,” he said.
