OJK Appoints Henry Rialdi as Deputy Commissioner of the Mineral Exchange

Jakarta: The Chair of the OJK (Financial Services Authority) Board of Commissioner Friderica Widyasari Dewi appoints and takes the oath of office of Henry Riady as Commissioner Deputy of the Regulation and Supervision of the Mineral and Strategic Commodities Exchange (BMKS).

The appointment is a part of strengthening the OJK’s institutional capacity in carrying out the mandate of law regarding Financial Sector Development and Strengthening (UU P2SK).

“The country’s hope to the success of the Mineral and Strategic Commodities Exchange is really big. We hear a lot to many people’s hope, especially from Mr. President (Prabowo Subianto). Later on, this exchange will answer many things, particularly about the practice of transfer pricing and under-invoicing which causes significant losses to Indonesia,” said Friderica in her official statement in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Thursday, August 20, 2026.

Friderica emphasized that Indonesia is one of primary manufacturers of various minerals and strategic commodities, however has not gained the optimal benefits from that position all this time due to the price formation of some commodities has not taken place yet domestically.

Thus, she hoped the existence of BMKS is capable of strengthening trade governance as well as supporting more transparent price formation, so that Indonesia can achieve a greater added value.

Besides that, the OJK’s mandate regarding BMKS regulation and supervision also became a part of President Prabowo Subianto’s focus in his state of the nation address on August 14, 2026.

In accordance with Friderica, that consideration showed a big country’s expectation towards OJK to ensure the BMKS implementation is capable of providing an optimal result in line with the given mandate.

“Of course we must prepare since the beginning, starting from POJK (Financial Services Authority Regulation), regulatory, until supervisory, in order to the existence of BMKS can give a great result in line with the mandate that is given to the OJK,” mentioned Friderica. The First Step of BMKS Ecosystem Development Friderica said the appointment of Commissioner Deputy of the BMKS Regulation and Supervision is one of OJK’s first steps within preparing the regulatory, supervisory and development of BMKS ecosystem.

“That function is expected to be able to ensure the conduct of mineral and strategic commodity trade conducts orderly, transparently, and with integrity-based manner, as well as strengthening the risk and governance management,” stated Friderica.

With the reinforcement of institution and regulatory framework as well as supervisory that is prepared since the beginning, OJK commits to ensure BMKS will be capable of establishing itself as a part of a credible mineral and strategic commodity trade ecosystem.

“The existence of BMKS is expected not only to enhance the transparency and trade integrity but also strengthen the price formation domestically and optimize the added value of mineral resources and strategic commodities for the welfare of the people, the nation, and the country,” remarked Frederica.
