Jakarta: The government has added new diesel fuel delivery points to support passenger ships deployed for disaster recovery operations in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) Wahyudi Anas said the vessels are mobilizing personnel to assist recovery efforts and transporting disaster relief supplies, vehicles, and essential goods to affected areas.

He said President Prabowo Subianto and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia had instructed authorities to take immediate steps to restore disaster-hit regions.

BPH Migas has approved a request from the Director General of Sea Transportation at the Transportation Ministry to add fuel delivery points for the KM Egon, operated by PT Pelni.

Under normal operations, the KM Egon serves the Waingapu–Lembar–Surabaya–Batulicin–Pare Pare–Bontang route and return. To support disaster response, the route was adjusted to Waingapu–Lembar–Surabaya–Tanjung Priok–Belawan–Lhokseumawe–Padang–Tanjung Priok–Surabaya.

“With this adjustment, KM Egon can now refuel at both the Surabaya Integrated Terminal and the Jakarta Integrated Terminal, whereas previously refueling was only available in Surabaya,” Anas said, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, 16 December 2025.

In addition, BPH Migas approved a request from the Director General of Land Transportation to add fuel delivery points for the KMP Jatra I, operated by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry.

The KMP Jatra I is transporting relief supplies to several ports in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, serving the Surabaya–Jakarta–Belawan–Aceh–Sibolga–Teluk Bayur route to reach disaster-affected areas more effectively.

Anas said the additional delivery points were necessary due to the vessel’s limited fuel tank capacity of 67 kiloliters.

BPH Migas has also asked the Directorate General of Land Transportation to help oversee diesel fuel distribution for river, lake, and ferry vessels in accordance with applicable regulations.

“Through this coordination, we hope the mobilization of personnel, aid, vehicles, and logistics can reach affected communities faster and accelerate recovery efforts in disaster areas,” Anas said.
