“This visit is our step to see firsthand the readiness of tourist destinations, especially in Bali, in the face of the momentum of school holidays,” Ni Luh Puspa said in her statement, Saturday (6/6/2026).
According to Puspa, the increasing mobility of tourists should be offset by the application of adequate safety standards. Therefore, destination managers are required to ensure all facilities, support facilities, and risk mitigation systems are functioning properly before receiving a surge of visitors.

“We hope that all tourism stakeholders can continue to collaborate to bring safe, comfortable and quality destinations so that tourists can enjoy their holidays in peace,” Puspa said.
Destination preparedness includes various aspects, ranging from the condition of facilities and infrastructure, visitor management, application of safety standards, officer readiness, to environmental management and cleanliness of tourist areas.
To strengthen the culture of tourist safety, the Ministry of Tourism also runs training and certification programs for tourism industry players, especially in activities with higher risk such as mountain tourism, tirta tourism, rafting, and snorkeling.
In addition, the Ministry of Tourism has drafted the Indonesian National Occupational Competence Standard (SKKNI), which serves as a reference in tourist services, including safety and security aspects during travel.
Meanwhile, Waterbom Bali CEO Sayan Gulino said it had made various preparations for the school holiday period through regular inspections of facilities and support facilities.
“We have a quality control department that regularly conducts inspections. With 33 years of experience, we are ready to face an increase in tourist visits,” Sayan said.
According to Sayan, managing visitor capacity is also an important part of maintaining the safety and comfort of tourists. Therefore, the number of visitors will remain adjusted to the carrying capacity of the available facilities.
“With good capacity management, visitors do not have to wait in line for too long, facilities are maintained, and the tourist experience can take place more comfortably and safely,” he said.
