"Setiap upaya untuk mengadopsi pengaturan baru atau terpisah dibandingkan dengan apa yang sedang dilakukan oleh Republik Islam Iran, hanya akan menyebabkan situasi yang lebih rumit dan penundaan dalam pembukaan kembali Selat Hormuz, dan akan meningkatkan ketegangan, seperti yang kita saksikan dalam dua malam terakhir," kata Aragchi dalam konferensi pers bersama Menlu Irak Fuad Hussein di Baghdad, Ahad (28/6/2026), dikutip laman Al Arabiya.
Dia mendesak agar negara-negara menghormati dan menaati nota kesepahaman yang sudah diteken Iran bersama dengan Amerika Serikat (AS) di Islamabad, Pakistan, baru-baru ini. Aragchi berharap negara-negara tak membelokkan nota kesepahaman tersebut.
Aragchi lantas menekankan bahwa negara-negara di kawasan perlu mencapai kerangka kerja baru. "Tanpa kehadiran atau campur tangan negara mana pun dari luar kawasan," ujar Aragchi.
Sementara itu, dalam konferensi pers, Fuad Hussein menyampaikan pentingnya bagi Iran untuk membuka kembali Selat Hormuz dan mencabut blokade Angkatan Laut AS terhadap Iran. Dia menegaskan, Irak tidak mendukung perluasan skala perang terhadap negara-negara Teluk, termasuk terhadap Iran.
