Jakarta: Statistics Indonesia (BPS) reported that foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia reached 1.2 million visits in November 2025, reflecting continued year-on-year growth despite a monthly decline.
“The number of foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia reached 1.2 million visits in November 2025,” said BPS Deputy for Distribution and Service Statistics Pudji Ismartini in Jakarta on Monday, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 6 January 2026.
BPS data show that foreign arrivals fell 11.12 percent month on month compared with October 2025, but rose 9.79 percent year on year from November 2024.
Cumulatively, Indonesia recorded 13.98 million foreign tourist arrivals from January to November 2025, marking a 10.44 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
By point of entry, 1.02 million visits in November were recorded at main entry points, while 181,670 visits came through border crossings.
Air transport dominated arrivals through main entry points, accounting for 79.19 percent of visits, followed by sea transport at 17.06 percent and land transport at 3.75 percent.
Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Banten remained the two busiest air gateways, jointly handling 716,840 foreign arrivals, or 88.97 percent of total air arrivals in November.
On a year-on-year basis, foreign arrivals increased across most regions. Visitors from Asia outside ASEAN recorded the highest growth at 16.39 percent, followed by Africa at 15.83 percent and the Middle East at 14.99 percent. In contrast, arrivals from Europe declined by 3.63 percent.
Month on month, foreign arrivals declined across nearly all regions, with European visitors posting the steepest drop at 29.43 percent, followed by Africa at 18.50 percent. The Middle East was the only region to record growth, rising 23.42 percent.
By nationality, foreign tourist arrivals in November were dominated by visitors from Malaysia with 207,040 visits (17.27 percent), followed by Australia with 135,220 visits (11.28 percent), Singapore with 126,250 visits (10.53 percent), and China with 105,510 visits (8.80 percent).
